This is an Organic Orange Blossom and Witch Hazel facial toner in a 150ml amber glass bottle with an atomiser spray fitting - suitable for all skin types.

We have blended Organic Orange Blossom Hydrosol with alcohol free Witch Hazel Hydrosol and coconut derived Glycerine to create a nourishing facial tonic that softens, hydrates and tones the skin. This tonic is best used after cleansing to help tighten pores, remove any make up residue, dirt and oil, replenish skin cells and promote a soft, smooth complexion.

Orange Blossom Hydrosol:
Orange Blossom hydrosol is created from distilling the blossom from the bitter Orange Tree. This hydrosol has a beautifully floral and sweet aroma, that is slightly more floral than it's essential oil counterpart, Neroli. Orange Blossom is renowned for it’s many uses and benefits, it is a natural astringent, contains anti-microbial properties and is soothing, softening and cleansing for the skin. It helps to lock in moisture, balance and restore the skin's natural PH whilst brightening dull and tired skin.

Witch Hazel Hydrosol:
Witch Hazel is an antioxidant and an astringent. It has been used medicinally to aid various skin ailments, reduce inflammation, promote healing and fight bacteria. Due to its high tannin content it has strong skin toning actions.

What is a Hydrosol?

Hydrosols are botanical extracts that are harvested using the traditional method of steam distillation, the same method used to make most essential oils. Hydrosol's are also known as Floral Waters, Distillates, Hydrolats or Aromatic Waters. The aromatic waters we have used are produced by distilling Orange Blossom and Witch Hazel leaves and bark. 

How are they made?

They are created in a still that contains fresh water and plant material which is slowly heated. As the steam rises, it passes through the botanical material carrying particles of essential oil and phytonutrients through the still. As this nourishing vapour cools, through this alchemical process it condenses in the form of an aromatic water (now a Hydrosol) along with its essential oil counterpart. Most of the essential oil will rise to the top, leaving the Hydrosol with micro-particles of essential oil locked within the water.

Hydrosol's contain a small amount of the essential oil from the plant and the water soluble constituents in the plant material which have various medicinal and cosmetic properties. Aromatic waters are much less concentrated than essential oils and are safe to use undiluted. Their aromas are often soft and subtle when compared to their essential oil counterpart, they usually have a scent similar to their essential oil, but also can have a milder and greener note. 

Hydrosol's are an ancient holistic tool and ritual. Alchemists have performed botanical healing distillations, in one form or another, for thousands of years. There is evidence of their use in ancient texts, with delicate rose water being the most prominent. In ancient Egypt, their properties and beneficial effects on the skin were well known and Cleopatra was known to be very fond of them.

******Benzoic acid is a natural preservative. It is a chemical naturally found in many fruits and has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties. 

DIRECTIONS:

After cleansing apply toner onto a re-usable cotton round and then onto the face. We recommend misting after moisturising with an oil to lock in hydration. 

CARE:

Store in a cool dark place, use within 6 months of opening. Keep the lid tightly closed and refrain from opening the bottle. 

For an extra refreshing energy boost keep the toner in the refrigerator during summertime. This will also extend the shelf life.

SAFETY:

Allergic reactions occur with even the most delicate of products. If you have sensitive skin we recommend doing a patch test first. If irritation occurs discontinue use.

PACKAGING:

All my outer packaging is recyclable/biodegradable. Please recycle or re-use the glass bottle and the atomiser.

Please note - This hydrosol has a mild, soft and delicate aroma that naturally contains minute quantities of essential oil, there is no added essential oil, because of this it is suitable for sensitive skin.
